Scolothrips takahashii Priesner, 1950
All 16 species of the genus are predators of the tetranychid mites. This species was described from Taiwan and has been also recorded from Japan other than Hokkaido so far. For the long time, this species was identified as S. sexmaculatus (Pergande, 1891) in Japan, but that species is distributed only in the North America and is distinguished from S. takahashii by the pronotum with a pair of discal setae near posterior margin.
